Speed Mentoring

An APA signature program, Speed Mentoring, features 10-minutes structured conversations between mentees and mentors followed by a group goal-setting discussion. Speed Mentoring takes place at the Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS) meeting, the Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) meeting and regional meetings.

2025 Virtual Speed Mentoring

This is a fun and fast-paced networking session designed to bring early career faculty and fellows together with mid-career and senior faculty. And, for 2025, we’re going virtual!

Mentees will be assigned to a track and will have 10 minutes with each mentor in their assigned track for a one-on-one conversation. Following the speed mentoring activity, each track will meet as a group for a lively discussion of mentees' short- and long-term goals

Additional Information
Mentors are APA members who have been in an academic faculty position for 8-10 years or longer.

Mentees are APA members who are in fellowship or in their first 6-7 years of an academic faculty position. Mentees should come to the session with questions prepared to make the most of the 10 minutes per mentor.

Speed mentoring will be held virtually on zoom in 2025. Both Mentee and Mentor CVs will be shared prior to the event to help facilitate conversation.
