The Pediatric Tobacco Issues SIG was formed to create a community of healthcare providers and researchers dedicated to eliminating the dangerous consequences of tobacco use, – including electronic cigarettes and other emerging products – secondhand smoke in children, adolescents, and their families. The primary goal of the SIG is to provide a dynamic environment for members to share knowledge and expertise about improving tobacco prevention, cessation, and elimination of exposure. The SIG will also assist physicians and other healthcare professionals to stay up to date on research and program developments in tobacco control, prevention, and treatment. We encourage medical students, residents, fellows, and providers from all specialties to join the SIG.
The primary mission of the Pediatric Tobacco Issues SIG is to provide a dynamic environment for members to share knowledge and expertise to eliminate pediatric tobacco use and tobacco smoke exposure.
The Pediatric Tobacco Issues SIG fosters networking and mentorship opportunities, research collaboration, and advocacy training among healthcare providers and researchers committed to ending the tobacco epidemic in children and their families. The Pediatric Tobacco Issues SIG will provide educational opportunities for research and program developments in tobacco.
