RAPID Mentoring and Career Development Conference

Conference Overview

The APA RAPID Program holds an annual conference each winter, with all expenses paid, for current RAPID Scholars and other interested young investigators, providing mentorship from the RAPID Program National Advisory Committee.

Highlights of the conference include:

  • A panel discussion, conducted by RAPID NAC Members & Directors, who are leading senior researchers in general pediatrics.
  • A speed mentoring session in which participants receive one-on-one mentoring from all members of the RAPID NAC & Directors.
  • Networking opportunities with leaders in the fields of health disparities, health services research, obesity, nutrition, sickle cell disease, and immigrant health.
  • Resources for creating a career development plan towards academic success.

A call for nominations will be distributed to APA members in early fall.

All interested attendees must be members of the Academic Pediatric Association.

Receipt of applications is encouraged from individuals who are members of an underrepresented minority group (URM), disabled, or from a socially, culturally, economically, or educationally disadvantaged background, and who are committed to a career in academic general pediatrics.

The number of selected attendees is dependent upon the availability of funds.

Nominations are welcome from those who are:
