Happy Summer APA Members and New
Tweetiatricians!
It was great to see everyone at the 2013 PAS meeting last month in Washington DC. As you'll see in several of our board member reports, the meeting was a huge success. For those of you who were unable to attend the meeting, I hope you were following #PAS2013 on
Twitter! We sent out several APA tweets (@AcademicPeds) during the meeting to be sure APA members knew about plenary sessions, regional breakfasts, and other special events. Thank you to Terry Kind (@Kind4Kids) who provided a great PAS2013 Tweeting Guide. Many APA members signed up for Twitter during the PAS meeting and began their new careers as Tweetiatricians, including Benard Dreyer (@BenardDreyer) who now has over 230 followers - Go Benard! The other communication tool used during the PAS meeting was a new mobile APA meeting app. During the meeting we discovered a few scheduling glitches with the app and we apologize for any frustration this caused. We recently sent out a survey to assess your use of and satisfaction with the meeting app. We plan to make modifications based on your feedback and have a better app for next year's meeting. If you didn't get a chance to reply to the survey, please email me (bsolomon@jhmi.edu) with any suggestions. As for other communication news on the horizon, based on feedback from several SIGs who piloted our new APA wiki, we are in the process of making final modifications and the APA wiki will be coming soon. All APA SIGs, Regions and Committees will have their own wiki pages. Stay tuned!
